The student council at East Islip’s Ruth C. Kinney Elementary School hosted its annual Turkey Trot on Nov. 21. Over 150 students participated by coming to school early with nonperishable food items, which were donated to Mercy Haven right in time for the holidays. 

“We had more donations than ever and the staff and students had a great time,” Principal Janet Jones said.
