Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½

All four of East Islip’s elementary schools – Connetquot, John F. Kennedy, Ruth C. Kinney and Timber Point – celebrated this year’s Pick a Reading Partner program with a “Camp Read a Lot” theme.

Participating students read for 15 minutes each night. The two-week PARP period included Spirit Days, a bookmark contest and a culminating activity where students read in the classroom in tents. It also included an evening at the East Islip Public Library where all elementary students were invited to meet local authors.  

“It was fabulous to have so many students participate,” Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½ Principal Deborah Smith said. “The daily activity of reading together strengthens the relationship between the reading partners.”
