Student accomplishments were highlighted at the East Islip School District Board of Education’s June 7 meeting, beginning with recognition for the students and mentors involved in the district’s CORE program. This valuable, long-running work-based learning program pairs East Islip High School life skills students with local businesses so that students can acquire crucial work experience and get prepared for life beyond high school.

Also recognized were 2023 National Merit Scholarship Program Finalist Isabella Fantauzzi, Class of 2023 valedictorian Antonio Cottone and salutatorian Zachary Zhang, students from East Islip High School’s Ambassadors of Compassion program, and the community members in the School Business Partnership and Community Chamber of Commerce.
