Michael Dorgan Elected as New Board of Ed President

  • Michael Dorgan was elected as the East Islip Board of Education's president for 2023-2024 during the annual reorganization meeting on July 5. Dorgan, who served as vice president last year, was first elected to the board as a trustee in 2021.

    Stephen Ruland, who also joined the board in 2021, was named vice president. 

    Last year’s president, Christopher Zachry, remains a trustee.

    During the meeting, Dorgan, Ruland, new board trustee Jessica Ciampi and Superintendent Paul Manzo were all sworn in by district clerk Stephanie Parker.
