Connetquot Elementary School celebrated First Responder Appreciation Day on Oct. 30. Students submitted photos of family members and friends who they wanted to honor on that day, and kindergarten teacher Meagan Faughnan put together a slideshow that teachers played for their classes. Some classes also invited veteran visitors to the school, to allow students to acknowledge and appreciate their hard work and dedication to keeping the community safe. 

“My students loved welcoming some first responders into our class and recognizing their hard work,” Faughnan said.
