Two Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½ Artists Display Masks at Colors of LI

  • Two talented students from East Islip’s John F. Kennedy Elementary School, Adelina Latino and June Ritter, were chosen to have their mask artworks displayed at the 24th annual Colors of Long Island student art exhibit, which ran from Feb. 17 through April 8 at the Long Island Museum in Stony Brook. Latino’s girl mask was created to ward off toxic friendships, while Ritter’s deer mask was intended to instill calmness.

Sponsored by Sterling National Bank, Colors of Long Island provides students from kindergarten through 12th grade an opportunity to showcase their artistic accomplishment in a museum setting.

“The two girls were very excited to see their artwork in a real museum,” art teacher Donna Bernard said. “Congratulations to our fine artists.”
