EIHS Student-Artists Brighten Up Nurses¡¯ Office

  • Members of East Islip High School’s National Art Honor Society recently designed and painted a mural for the office of school nurses Sue Kearns and Debbie Seibert. The mural design was a collaboration of designs by students Taylor Donlin and Maddie Toto. Other students participating included Tammy Chen, Keira Higgins, Adriana Iacono, Andrew Jacobsen, Johanna LeRoux, McKayla Mahon, Annelyse Marra, Jessica Ocasio, Julia Perry and Lindsey Roses.

“I really enjoyed painting the mural for the nurses’ office,” Toto said. “I’m very glad I was picked to help make it. It was fun to work with my friends on this project.”
“The process of creating a mural is a lot of hard work, but it is worth the effort to have such a beautiful outcome,” Roses said. “I am honored to be a part of it and that it will be seen by thousands of students to come.”

"We are so proud of all of our members who were able to participate in creating a beautiful medical/health-related mural for the high school nurses’ office,” NAHS co-adviser Heather Toomey said. “Enhancing our school community with artwork is part of demonstrating their outstanding abilities in the visual arts. The nurses do so much for our community here, and it was nice to make them something.”

“We would like to thank the talented art students for creating such a beautiful mural,” Kearns and Seibert said. “It really looks great and brightens up our office.”
