East Islip High School’s high-achieving six winter athletic teams – including boys and girls bowling, boys and girls winter track, gymnastics and wrestling – were recognized at the Board of Education’s March 7 meeting.

“All of our fall teams persevered and won many championships, so did our winter teams, and I know we are going to have a big crowd again after our spring season,” Athletic Director Steve Restivo said. “Congratulations to all of our student-athletes, their parents and coaches for all their hard work.”

The meeting also featured a video presentation on the district’s celebration of International Mother Language Day, which promotes linguistic and cultural awareness, and two fourth graders from Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½ shared their experiences as English language learners.
