East Islip High School seniors Sarah Birner and Madison Sturtz competed at the Senior Suffolk County All-Star game, held at Farmingdale State College on June 14, with their team winning 9-4.

The two athletes and teammate Kailyn Bloch, a junior, were named to the All-County softball team after their success on the field this spring.

Second baseman Birner had 33 hits, batted .402 and only committed two errors over the entire season. She batted .500 in six playoff games, which led the team. 

Sturtz, widely regarded as one of the top catchers on Long Island, scored 33 runs, stole 15 bases and hit .333.
