Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½

John F. Kennedy and Ruth C. Kinney Elementary School fourth- and fifth-grade students recently competed in the 38th annual Town of Islip Sharp Shooter Basketball Contest. Taking the basketball skills learned in physical education classes to the next level, the Sharp Shooter “Just Say No to Drugs” program challenges local students to score as many baskets as possible in one minute. The Islip Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs has sponsored the Sharp Shooter program since 1993.

Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½’s in-school winners were Genevieve Griffen, Kieran Johnson, Clara Kohlhoff and Landon Manly, while RCK’s were Juliana Blume, Brayden Domini, Lucas Gonzalez and Cadence Smith. Second place winners at Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½ were Jayden Eugene, Declan Grieve, Hadley Madden and Haley Schmidt.  All eight first place winners moved on to represent East Islip in the townwide competition, held on March 2 at East Islip High School.
